Chartered Status

A chartership is a formal qualification that recognises someone as an expert in their field with a high level of professional competence and authority, and qualifies them to sign-off on public domain and statutory documents.

Qualification

An applicant must have a relevant four-year degree or equivalent.

Experience

An applicant must have sufficient practical experience in geoscience.

Membership

An applicant must be a corporate or retired member, or a fellow.

Progression

An applicant must comply with CPD and renew their status every five years.

Attestation

An applicant must list three references to attest their qualification, experience, and character.

Competence

An applicant must be in good standing and fit to hold Chartered Status.
